If I’m a Christian, claiming to become more like Jesus, is my Christianity what I do or who I am? We get very closely identified with our jobs and when people ask, we say I’m a teacher, a lawyer, secretary, whatever. But is that really who you are or what you do? Naturally, it’s what you do to make a living. But it’s not the essential of you as a person; hopefully you’re the same type person when you’re not in that role.
In the same way, we as believers in Jesus Christ must aim to be Christians from the inside out, not simply to act like we’re one. Are we the same type person when we’re not in church as we are in it? If we’re kind and friendly in church, are we when at home or work? If we love Jesus in church, do we outside in the world?
Let’s ponder these questions and discover who we really are. Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31 New King James Bible.)
Great message. Hypocrisy is killing the church witness. Thanks so much for you insight.
