The River

At church this morning we sang, “Flow to You, flow to You; Let the river of my worship flow to You.” As we sang, I saw *the river of the water of life flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb to us who were worshiping God with all our hearts as our praise flowed up to the throne of God. The river of our praise and the one flowing from the throne of God came together and flowed into each other. Our hearts and Father God’s were in sync as we stood praising Him.  Beside this single river, from the two joining together, stood the tree of life on each side of the river, bearing fruit that healed all issues we had – whether relationship, financial, health, work. Whatever our need was, God used that tree to supply it.

I believe this is the way the Giver of Life wants us to live: in complete harmony with His Spirit so that we continually praise Him and from Him flows all we need to live the abundant life that our Lord Jesus Christ died to give us.

While we can’t always praise God verbally as we go about our work, our spirits can be in such union with our Father that we do praise continually and the two rivers join, bringing us that abundant life. Yes, we all slip from time to time, but as soon as we confess that, we return to this flow; it isn’t stopped.

* See Revelation 22:1-3.

    What a beautiful picture, Sandra. This imagery appeals to the eye of my heart since it is filled with the peace and harmony that I long for every day. I’m going to remember this mental image and bring it to mind when I praise the Lord and when I need to feel God’s presence. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
